Sea Foam Stripes

I'm really feeling blue polish at the moment. I've no idea why but I've had a run of reaching for the blue shades in my collection. I don't always posts designs in order so you may not have seen many yet but for me it feels like every design recently! It must be the time of year, drawing me towards cooler tones - I've not used neons for at least a week...

Today's blue tone is Sea Foam* by GOSH, which I've decided I don't use enough. It's a gorgeous shade, almost turquoise. I usually find blues hard to wear but this one is subtle enough to be wearable on it's own, or as it's us, with some simple nail art on top.

I say simple, this doesn't look like a simple mani, it came out a bit more manic than I had expected, I feel like it's something from the circus. Anyway, I say simple because it's super easy to create. Two coats of Sea Foam* for the base and then I just added black dots with a nail art pen. I used striping tape to create a stencil for the striped nails and then just painted over the tape with Barry M - Espresso*. Peel away the tape, top with some glossy top coat and you're all done.
I more often than not use white for dots or stripes but this blue works perfectly with the black. I feel black can be too hard for pastels and just gets lost with any deeper colours. This is just the right tone to work well with either black or white for detailing. Maybe I'll recreate this again in summer with white detailing and we can compare?
