Red Robin inspired by Hobbs

As it's still November I'm calling this a winter mani, rather than anything too festive. Emma and I have a bit of an unwritten rule about getting into the holiday mood too early, if we started in November we'd definitely run out of designs before the big day! Anyway, these nails were inspired by my super cosy winter robin socks from Hobbs - a lovely gift from my Mother-in-law-to-be.

You know we get inspired by all sorts of things, and this isn't the first time we've been inspired by our socks, even though it seems a bit nuts! These were just too cute, I think it was the robins' glittery red breast that really caught my eye and I knew I'd have to recreate.

I used a bunch of Barry M polishes for this design - On Your Marks*, Red Glitter, Espresso*, Blood Orange, Mushroom and Dragster*. I also used a Barry M nail art pen for the polka dots (or maybe it's actually very uniform snow!) I kinda winged it with the robin design but somehow it turned out alright - he's pretty cute! I kept it simple because I'm not much of an artist, thankfully the red robin breast helps make it recognisable.
We usually end up doing more animal based nails in summer but Emma created some gorgeous winter critters last year so I thought I'd get in on the action. I love this little robin and am super pleased with how the mani turned out. Thanks for the nail inspo Hobbs!
