So we're a little late with our swatches of this collection but they're beautiful so we're going to share them anyway! Barry M launched four new autumn winter Sunset shades to join their original eight summer polishes. The new additions include a very pale pink, dusty mushroom, dark purple and dark red.
DO YOU PINK I'M SEXY?
First up is Do You Pink I'm Sexy?* which is my favourite from the new additions. It's a gorgeous pale pink shade with an absolutely lovely formula. This swatch is two thick coats as the colour density is quite low. It's similar to Do It Like A Nude* from the original Sunset release but a pink version. Both are gorge!
DARK SIDE OF THE SHROOM'
Next up is my very close second favourite - Dark Side Of The Shroom'*, it reminds me of Barry M's old Mushroom shade which Emma and I searched ages for at uni. This has more of a purple base to it though so it's slightly less brown looking which I find more wearable. It's also a one coater! Yes, this swatch is a single coat! Usually I do two anyway but there was just no need with this polish, it was awesome, cannot fault the formula or coverage at all.
PLUM ON BABY LIGHT MY FIRE
This polish definitely wins the prize for best name, brilliant! A very dark plum shade this is perfect for the cooler months when the daylight hours dwindle. It's almost black and does seem strangely similar to the new Midnight Gelly shade Black Currant*. Barry M have brought out quite a few dark reds and purples this season, not that we're complaining as they're all very pretty!
VENGENCE IS WINE
Vengence Is Wine* is a dark red wine shade and, yep you guessed it, it's lovely. However, the colour density isn't as good as the previous two and you can even see that in the swatches, I probably should have used three coats! Again I feel like this is similar to one of the Midnight Gellys - Black Cherry*. I'd say if you like a dark red/burgandy polish you could probably pick one or the other.
This collection comes with a special top coat which helps them harden under natural UV light meaning they continue to harden as you wear them. In theory this means they should last longer than a standard polish but I've heard mixed reviews. I can't keep any polish on for long (even gel chips off on me after a week) but I know Lauren at The Naily Mail managed to make hers last ages!
Do you have any of the new Sunset polishes already? Which is your favourite?
