We know that we're a little early for Remembrance Sunday but we do have a valid reason. Have you ever wondered where to get those amazing poppies that you see on things like X Factor, you know, the ones with diamantes and such? Well, we contacted by the people behind them, Buckley London, and asked if we could create some poppy nail art for them. We do poppy nails every year so of course said yes and kindly Buckley sent us a couple of their gorgeous rings to use as inspiration!
Buckley London are the official designer of The Royal British Legion Poppy Collection and rings are their newest addition. The Poppy Collection also includes brooches (obvs), bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Clearly with our love of accessorising our hands it was the rings that we were asked to show off! We got sent two rings, you'll see Emma's soon. Mine is a diamante poppy and I love it, it's such a great way to show your support. I'm also hoping I will be able to keep hold of it a bit longer than the paper poppies which usually last me less than 24 hours!
This mani was inspired by my first poppy design I did a couple of years ago, but I've tried to improve on it. I went for a single poppy accent nail and added Emma's cute crosses pattern onto a second nail. As I was photographing the beautiful ring as well I didn't want to go too OTT on the nail art. I love that having only one poppy nail makes it stand out so much more.
The base polish is Nicole by O.P.I - Yoga-then-Yogurt*, the red poppies are O.P.I - Red My Fortune Cookie*, the green is Barry M - Cardamom* and the black is Mavala - Black*. I used small brushes and a dotting tool to create the design.
We were kindly gifted this ring but you can buy it online for £12.50 here. All profits are donated to the Royal British Legion and Poppy Scotland.
