Nautical Nails

The problem with working seasons in your post uni gap year is that you then have to watch your friends as they keep doing them and you get a boring office job. What's worse is when one of them decides to quit season life and get a 'real' job too, but the first week of the job includes sailing around Croatia! Seriously, how awesome is that! My job just sends me round the M25...

Anyway, this friend now works for a really cool company called MedSailors - if you're looking for a fun holiday next year check them out. Last time we met up for dinner (and wine, lots of wine) we joked that I should create some MedSailor nails. When nails are concerned it turns out no jokes are too far for me and it sparked a little idea. I see a lot of nautical nails in summer, for obvious reasons, but not so much in the cooler months. MedSailors yellow and blue colour theme appealed to me for this time of year and a mani was born!
I used three Models Own polishes for this nautical design - Sarong Wrap*, Misty Grey and True Blue. The blue stripes are Nail Mail UK vinyls which I was originally using as a template for a white and yellow stripes. However, once I got the blue stripes on I liked them so stuck with it (no pun intended!)

Today I learnt that we really do find inspiration everywhere, I think my friend's job is probably one of our weirdest so far!
