Winter Gradient

A quick and simple design for you today as I've managed to damage a finger on my right hand playing netball and couldn't face anything more complicated. A few of my team have broken fingers recently so I'm very glad to get away with just a bit of bruising and a fat knuckle!

The design was inspired by @nailaing on Instagram - yep this is where all my nail inspiration is coming from at the moment. We've just had a run of following new people so I'm getting a ton of inspiration yay!

I used Nicole by O.P.I - Yoga-then-Yogurt* as a base and then sponged on Sally Hansen - Jaded* to form the base gradient. It was the best gradient I've done for a while and I even managed to get it even on all my nails, I almost didn't bother with the topper! It looked a touch bare though so I stuck to the plan and added L'Oreal - Confettis to the tips of each nail. Unfortunately I think this polish might be ready for polish heaven as it was so gloopy even getting a rough fade was tricky. It's a bit annoying as it turned out messier than I'd hoped. Maybe I'll try to rescue it with some polish thinner, Mavala sent us some in our bag of goodies and I haven't tested it out yet!
I don't often think of gradients and mint greens as a usual thing to see in the cooler months but somehow this works. I think the monochrome with a hint of soft green is a great colour combo which could work all year round. The original design was done with baby pink which definitely made it seem more summery. Jaded* is not a very warm colour so it turns the whole mani more wintery. This would be a great one to test out with different colours, maybe a cobalt blue next?

Love,
Jo x
