Today I've attempted a mix and match. I usually leave these to Emma as she's much better at mixing patterns and colours than I am! I wasn't expecting this to be a mix and match but started with the little finger and it just progressed from there.
I was rooting around the back of my helmer and found Models Own - Snowflakes. This is one of the most disappointing polishes I own, the iridescent glitter pieces are so beautiful but the formula is too thick so it's impossible to get decent coverage on your nail without leaving polish an inch thick! I decided to try and place the glitter onto my nail instead, it took forever and was a tad lumpy but looks great as a little pinky accent!
I didn't have the patience to cover all my nails with individually placed glitter from Snowflakes so I picked out a couple of other Models Own polishes, Champagne and Malibu Pink*, along with some nail stencils from Nail Mail UK and some Primark bling. The base colour is Models Own - Coconut Cream.
This could be my first bling accent nail, it's definitely got more different types of diamantes on it than I've ever done before. I didn't think I'd be too keen on it but I'm actually quite a fan. I didn't plan it, just stuck the gems on randomly and I'm fairly impressed! Really easy and simple but very striking - a great idea for an accent nail for a party.
What do you think? Are you a fan of bling?
