Grown-Up Grunge

I was having a bit of a panic today as it was my last day off to try and do some designs before I go to Germany next week. It went a bit tits up if I'm honest as I got stuck reading The Girl On The Train this morning and didn't get out of bed until about 11am. It's a good book by the way; slow to start but great twist at the end. Anyway, the late start made me a bit groggy so I didn't get to doing my nails until late and I had no inspiration. Cue hours wasted on Instagram. Thankfully while searching I came across @shopinuinu which is where the inspo for this mani came from.

The account is a clothing and accessories one which has some real kitsch items. I have another design coming up that's inspired by some of their socks. Love it! This one was inspired by a holo skirt, a check tee and a pastel tee. It was the first time I had really used Gosh's Holographic Hero and I was a bit disappointed. There is so much hype about this cult polish that I expected big things but I didn't really like it. I had to add a glossy top coat because it dries matte which is bizarre - I want my holos to be shiny as Hell.

Anyway. I was so pleased with how this turned out. It kind of reminded me of my grunge nails for some reason. It's like a more grown up version.

Happy Friday!
