I'm getting ready to go on holiday which can only mean one thing, it's almost back to school time. The time of year when all the kids flock back to the UK leaving the beaches of the Med free for the rest of us to frolic! I've seen a lot of back to school designs around as American schools go back before ours, so when my sister suggested it as a design idea I wasn't too inspired. I didn't want to go for the usual - pencils, paper with A+ etc but it did remind me of a long forgotten idea to try ink splodges. Perfect!
I had no idea how this was going to turn out when I started, I just totally winged it with a couple of dotting tools. As the first ink splodge took shape I was feeling defeated and almost reaching for the polish remover, but then something happened. As the last splash was added it somehow turned from a strange blue shape to an ink splodge, I was amazed! Ok, so they're not perfect but amazingly they do actually look like what they're supposed to (at least I think so!)
The base is Barry M - Cotton* and the ink is Barry M - Drive Me Navy* from their daylight curing range. It's such a beautiful blue.
Are you one of the lucky ones who's enjoyed a long fun summer and is now having to go back to work/school or are you like me, happy to finally be getting your own holidays after watching everyone else have fun?! It feels like everyone at work has been away for the last 6 weeks so I'm super happy that it's my turn now!
