To wrap up the summer season Essence challenged us to create the ultimate summer mani using a mix bag of their polishes and nail art tools. Essence sent us a little goodie bag and let us to the rest. I'm not sure this is my best work but it was pretty tough putting something together under pressure!
Essence sent us three polishes - Glitz & Glam* (glitter), So Lucky* (mint) and Love Is In The Air* (yellow). They also sent us a striping brush, some sponges, a dotting tool and some neon stickers. I tried my best to use absolutely everything in my design but after a couple of failed attempts I settled on just using a selection of the products.
I decided to create a stained glass effect style mani, using the three Essence polishes. I used the striping brush to apply the black outline, then filled in the sections with colours. I had to go over the black outline again to neaten it up but unfortunately the black polish I used went all funny when I added topcoat. This totally ruined the design which has made me really cross!
The heavy black lines don't exactly scream summer, but I'm surprised how well the polishes work together. Overall (despite the rubbish black polish) I'm pleased with the design, but I'm not happy with how well I executed it!
