Emma posted a cute pink design yesterday using Rimmel polishes and I've got another Rimmel mani for you today. Luckily we've managed to create totally different designs this time, after a run of very similar posts - we're seriously worried that we're becoming the same person!
This design was inspired by a very old Instagram post by @novice_nails. I've had a screenshot of it saved on my phone for ages and finally got round to recreating it. I chose completely different colours but the overlapping ribbons style is the same.
I used Rimmel's Peppermint* for the base and then picked out a selection of blues for the ribbons, Cheeky Chap*, Do Not Disturb* and Blindfold Me Blue*. I wanted something to jazz it up a bit so incorporated some gold using Barry M - Gold Foil Effects. I started with two coats of Peppermint* then drew on the lines with a nail art pen before filling them in with each colour. I thought this would take forever but it was actually much easier than expected!
Usually I get colour combos completely wrong for designs like this but I don't think I did too badly today. The combination is fairly bold and bright but that's the look I was going for. I also think this would be lovely with softer colours, or a pales background with neon stripes!
Have you got some fun nails planned for the weekend?
Love,
Jo x
This is such a pretty, unusual design. I love the blue tones paired with the gold!
