Galaxy & Grids

Galaxy nails are great, but there's not a huge amount you can do with them. We've tried mixing up the colour schemes using pinks and pastels, but then I ran out of ideas. That was until I saw @ninanailedit adding geometry to galaxy and fell in love a little bit!

It's no secret that I love a geometric mani, teamed with galaxy, I couldn't think of anything better. I started with a white base and used striping tape to block out the grid pattern. I then sponged on the background blue. Using a sponge allowed me to get full coverage without building up too much polish on the nail. I used the corner of a sponge to add the galaxy pattern and then topped that with some glitter and extra stars. Finally, peel away the striping tape and top it all with matte topcoat.

The polishes I used were Rimmel - Disco Diva*, Green With Envy*, Pillow Talk* and Royal So And So!*, and the white base is Gosh - Snow White*.

I thought this design would take forever but it was actually fairly straightforward. The only drag was the waiting time as the layers dried. I decided not to go over detailed on the galaxy design as I thought a more simple galaxy would look better around the grid.
I used PVA glue around the edges of my nails to keep the polish off my fingers when sponging them on. This was particularly helpful as I was using blue polishes which are a pain to clean up! I simply peeled it off when I was done and there was minimal tidy up required, result.

Love,
Jo x
