Now we've got you craving a Shy FX session with our title we'll move onto the nails. All this sunshine is clearly getting to us. Yesterday Emma created a super summery sweet treats mani and today I've come over all tropical!
I used an absolute ton of Barry M polishes to create this. I counted a total of 12 polishes and a nail art pen. That definitely classifies as too many to mention! I used Pit Stop* from the Speedy Nail Paint collection as a base as it makes a change from my usual white background. I love this polish and have been using it a lot, it's hard to find such a soft pale grey that's not really sheer. I used Emma's white template technique for this design. I drew it all on with a white nail art pen and then added the colours on top. This is a great way to get colours to pop on a non-white base and also gives you the chance to make sure you're happy with your design before you spend ages on the colours!
I've been wanting to try tropical nails for ages but was always too worried they'd be a flop. They aren't great, my drawing skills leave a lot to be desired! Overall I like how they turned out but feel that I should have kept them a bit more simple. The pineapple nails worked well but I overdid it a bit on the leaves.
