A while back we did a mani swap with Alice from One Nail To Rule Them All. A mani swap is when we recreate one of her designs and she does one of ours. It was so much fun we decided to do it again today for you, and this time is has a strong Spring vibe!
We are inspired by Alice a lot, so you should be used to seeing recreations of her designs on here! Below are the originals that we recreated today. On the left Negative Space Florals, and on the right Polka Dot Owls.
Up first is Emma's recreation of Alice's Negative Space Florals, a gorgeous Spring design! Negative space and pastels is such a great combination and works especially well at this time of year. These were a lot harder to recreate than we thought they would be, Alice makes them look so easy! Thankfully she put together a tutorial for it so that helped us out. All you need to create this is a small brush and dotting tool (or toothpick) and a few of your favourite pastels. The matte finish smooths everything over leaving a lovely natural look.
Next is Jo's version of Alice's Polka Dot Owls. Again, there was a helpful tutorial to accompany this design making it much easier for us to recreate, thanks Alice! As you know, we love a good animal mani, so it was a no brainer to recreate this cute design. The design is quite busy, but the simple colour scheme of blue and white ensures that the cute little owls stand out. Our owls look a bit shocked - oops! You need the same tools for this design, some kind of dotting instrument and a small brush.
Alice also chose to recreate one of our Spring designs for her half of the swap. Make sure you head over to her blog to see which one she picked!
We did our best to do justice to Alice's amazing nail art so hopefully you enjoy our recreations! If you live under a rock and haven't come across One Nail To Rule Them All here are all the relevant links - Twitter, Instagram, Blog.
