I've been seeing this grid pattern everywhere recently, mostly on clothing. Of course now I can't remember where but there is definitely an H&M shirt available with a thin striped wide grid - gotta love H&M, they have everything! I've been meaning to try it out on my nails for a while but wasn't sure I could get the lines neat enough. Today is the day...
I used two Models Own polishes for this design and the juice from a Barry M black nail art pen. The white polish is White Light HyperGel and the green is Green Gladiola from last years Sticky Fingers release. It looks like this colour is still available in the main Models Own collection as it's still on their website here.
The polish in the Barry M nail art pens is really viscous so it's great for detailed work. I found my thinnest striper, coated it evenly in polish and hoped for the best. Remarkably the lines turned out super thin, or at least they were as thin as I was hoping for. Ok, so they're not 100% straight but we can't have it all!
I topped it all off with Essie - Matte About You, we're totally loving matte nails this season. Emma mattified her spring mani yesterday too!
Green Gladiola is the perfect spring shade, it's that type of green which is guaranteed to remind you of budding flowers and new leaves on trees. It's not the easiest colour to wear on it's own, I find most greens quite tricky, but it works really well as a colour pop combined with monochrome.
Have you bought any spring outfits with this wide grid pattern on yet?
