Last week we showed you Emma's super cute Red Nose Day nail art, created in partnership with Rimmel London. Today it's my turn!
The idea was for Emma to design a creative mani and for me to do something slightly more simple, however, I got a little carried away. Emma included five of the red nose faces but luckily for me she didn't draw my favourite one - Astrosnort! He's just so cute and I can't help thinking he looks a little shocked like he's thinking 'Err excuse me, I don't know how to be an astronaut, help!' I couldn't resist building on this idea and recreating a few mini Astrosnorts floating around in space looking helpless. The idea backfired a little though as now I feel really sorry for them...
I used a ton of Rimmel London polishes to create this design. The navy base is Midnight Kiss* from the new Velvet Matte range. It's a lovely deep, rich blue, perfect for galaxy designs! I created the galaxy effect using the corner of a sponge and layering up Do Not Disturb*, Breakfast In Bed*, and Blindfold Me Blue* polishes, all from last year's Rita Ora range. Once complete I topped the galaxy base with Disco Diva* Glitterbomb top coat to give it a bit of sparkle!
I gave the galaxy ages to dry as I knew I did not want to risk smudging it and having to start again!! Once it was completely dry I drew on the red nose shapes in White Hot Love* using a small brush. I then added the detailing on the shapes using Mars* for the red nose face and Matti-tude* for the buttons and pupils.
Red Nose Day is an event that runs every two years in the UK, focused mainly around a large telethon - this year it's on 13th March. There are a whole host of events running up to the day and loads of ways to get involved (even it's just purchasing a cute mug!) - you can check them all out on the Red Nose Day website. The funds from this event go to children all over the world, including those in need here in the UK. Emma and I are really proud to be involved and doing our little bit to promote such a worthy cause.
Rimmel London have also released a Limited Edition of their Kate 01 Red Lipstick in cute Red Nose packaging. The lippy retails at £5.49 with £1.67 from each sale going directly to the Red Nose Day fund.
