Black Daisy Print Mani

I really felt the urge to create a floral design today, but felt like it didn't really match the miserable weather. I decided to go for white daisies on a black base, aiming for a more winter appropriate floral design. This is similar to a WAH Nails mani (from their first book I think) and one I've always loved. It's fun and funky and can be worn all year round - perfect!

I used three Barry M polishes - Espresso* for the base, Cotton* for the daisies and Lemon Ice Cream for the centres. Annoyingly my bottle of Espresso* has gone all gloopy so it was a bit of a pain and I ended up with a much thicker base coat than I would have liked. After waiting an age to make sure the black was dry I used a small brush to add on the white petals using Cotton* from the new Gelly additions. I tried to vary the size of the daisies but they all turned out fairly similar, oh well! Finally I used a small dotting tool to add the yellow centre and topped it all with Barry M Matte Top Coat*.

We seem to be back on the 90s themes at the moment! This reminds me of a floaty daisy print fabric which seemed to be everywhere during that decade. I love that it's a fun girly design which is actually pretty easy to wear and has a slight edge to it. Can someone have a 90s party please so we can rock some of these nail designs?

  1. This is super cute and girly but the black makes it less girly. I love it.
