Giraffe Print Safari Nails

Everyone knows that giraffes are one of the coolest animals around, I can't believe it's taken us so long to represent them! We love a good animal print and have created zebra and leopard many times, however, giraffe is a new one for us.
I was worried about trying this design as it seemed too simple. One of those that looks so easy to do but turns out looking nothing like what you were aiming for. Sometimes the simplest patterns are the hardest as they have to be bang on. Generally I thought it wasn't too bad for a first effort though! Being a natural pattern it doesn't need to be too uniform so mistakes can often help the design/ Something went a bit strange with the little finger, it doesn't seem to match the rest of the nails, maybe it's a tad too angular? I did that nail first and learnt from my mistakes. In hindsight I should have re-done it, sorry for my laziness!
I started this mani with two coats of Barry M - Lemon Ice Cream and then drew on the patches using Barry M - Mushroom and a small brush. Finally I topped it all with a generous coat of Seche for the extra glossy finish.

I've only ever seen giraffes in a zoo, which Emma and I agree is quite a sad environment. I would absolutely love to see them in the wild though. Screw lions and tigers, my faves are giraffes and elephants!! Ooh maybe I'll do some elephant nails next, we could have a mini safari collection!

  1. I love these patterns. I'll try this myself x

    1. Let us know if you do, we'd love to check it out. E&J.xx
