After a recent go at using a dry brush over a white background I decided to have another go. The first attempt used just one colour and I loved how it turned out (you can see the post here). This time I went for three colours to mix it up a bit more. I went straight for a spring colour theme of baby pink, pastel blue and lime green - can you tell we're desperate for the seasons to change already!?
The polishes I used today are Ultra Violet - M&S, At Least I Pink So* - Nicole By O.P.I and You Are So Outta Lime* - O.P.I. Ultra Violet is a dupe of Rimmel's Mind The Gap, Victoria, one of my favourite blue polish shades. I'm pretty sure my Mum picked it up in the sale so she napped a bargain there! It's the only M&S polish I have as it's not somewhere I shop personally, but the formula is great and I absolutely love the colour so it's a thumbs up from me!
To create this colour wash effect I used an almost dry polish brush to apply streaks of each colour to my nails. I then added some colour depth by adding a second layer over parts of the coloured sections. The principle is similar to a glitter fade really!
I did think about adding a geometric (surprise surprise) design over the top of this mani, but in the end I could't bear to cover the beautiful colours. I will definitely be using this technique for a base in future designs though!
Love,
