Wintery Models Own Mani

It's got so cold this week in London that I was inspired to create a frosty nail design. I picked out a few from my Models Own collection which I knew would be perfect for this theme - Snowflakes, Blueberry Muffin and Southern Lights.

I started with a base of Blueberry Muffin, I absolutely adore this shade of pastel blue! I then used a white nail art pen to draw large polka dots on my thumbnail and an aztec pattern on my ring finger. I used two coats of Southern Lights glitter polish on my index finger - this probably didn't need the Blueberry Muffin base. Finally I used Snowflakes on my remaining nails. This polish is quite gloopy and the silver pieces are disappointingly sparse. To tackle these problems I used a toothpick to place the silver pieces on my nails and topped them with Seche Vite. This was a bit slower but enabled me to achieve good even coverage without the polish building up too much - definitely recommend this tactic with sparse glitter piece polishes!

I love how this mani turned out, it's so sparkly and wintery! These three Models Own polishes go beautifully together, I'm sure any design combining them would be awesome. I can't stop looking at my nails!

  1. I love this mani! The idea with the toothpick and the glitter is a neat trick!
    It looks so gorgeous

    1. Glad you like it Pia. the toothpick trick is a bit more time consuming but sooo worth it. E&J.xx
