All Outta Lime Wash

Yes, I know it's not spring but I miss the sunshine and warmth so I've recreated it on my nails. This mani reminds me of my childhood bedroom, which for some reason my parents let me paint lime green. Every morning it was like the first day of spring when the light reflected off the walls. Ok it's not everyone's cup of tea but I loved it!

I had intended this to be a background for nail art but once I'd completed it I couldn't bare to cover it up. I used a base coat of O.P.I - Put A Coat On!* and then just dragged a dry brush of All Outta Limes* over the top. It was like applying a colour wash to my nails. I love the asymmetric look and varying colour densities, it reminds me of lush grass!

This turned out sort of like a gradient mani but with a twist. I added more polish at the base of each nail to add a little more colour definition. Will definitely be trying this again with other colours as a backdrop to nail art. It was SO quick and easy.
