Nubar - Innocent Whispers

We were sent a couple of nail products to test out by a beauty product testing company a while back, but have been absolutely snowed under and only just got round to showing you. We contacted the company via Twitter after we saw a shout out for beauty bloggers but you can also sign up via their site. We were sent a Nubar polish which we're featuring today, and another set of two mini polishes which are still on our 'to do' list!

This is Innocent Whispers* a sheer lilac polish with an iridescent sheen. It's fairly similar to a W7 polish we featured a while back (here), and just as difficult to photograph so apologies for the poor images!

To get a good representation of the colour I have swatched this over a white base. You can use a normal base coat but the colour density is very low so you may need more coats of polish than normal. I built up to this shade using three thin coats. I found that although there is a purple tint to the polish the overall look was very subtle. It made my nails look pretty without standing out too much. Without the white this polish would give a more natural look, perfect for those of you who enjoy understated nails.

The photo above was the best I could get to show how this polish reflects the light. It's almost two tone with silvery and purpley/blue highlights depending on which angle you look from. The formula is smooth and thin making it easy to apply and quick drying.

This is not a colour I would usually pick out as I don't tend to go for sheer polishes. However, if they're your thing then I would definitely recommend this one as the finish is lovely, I was staring at it catching the light for ages!!

You can buy Nubar polishes for around £8.00 RRP and we've found a UK stockist here. It's not a brand we've seen around much before, it seems to be mostly salon based. Have you tried Nubar Nail Lacquer before?
