This is the second time that I have attempted Burberry nails. Last year it was the Burberry heart pattern that was all the rage, this year I have opted for the traditional Burberry check. It was quite easy to create the pattern but I just could not get my top coat - the usually trusty Seche Vite - to stop smudging. This is my second attempt and I'm still not completely happy with it but I just couldn't bring myself to try it again.
I used Barry M's Burgundy Crush for the main colour as it's quite a classy red shade that complimented the pattern well. I used a top coat with it though as, unusually, I wasn't in the mood for a matte mani.
For the check pattern I used a base of Barry M's Caramel, another from last year's autumn matte range. I used my Barry M black and white nail art pens and a striper brush with Barry M's Red for the print.
Looking at the smudges makes me cringe but I thought I'd post this anyway as it's quite a nice look for autumn and one that I'm sure you'll all be able to execute much better than I have.
Hugs
Aarghh - the feeling you get when top coat smudges a perfect design is the WORST! These still look fab though - the pattern goes perfectly with Burgundy Crush!! Sarah x
ReplyDeleteThank you! It is the worst feeling by far, especially when you have spent ages on a design. Luckily this one didn't take all that long. Still annoying though! Emma.x
