A little while ago Jo and I got approached to create a fifties design for a brand. This, unfortunately, never came to fruition for one reason or another so I thought I would share them with you all instead!
I was really pleased with these when I created them as I had tried so hard to steer clear of the typical Grease nails that I found when I searched 'fifties nails' on Google. The only real bugbear I have is the stupid little chip on my index nail that always seems to be there! Maybe it's a weak spot on my nail?
I wanted a diner theme for my nails as it's cute and fun and just a little bit colourful. With this in mind I drew a little milkshake and jukebox amongst the checkerboard and polka dots. I used a range of colours for this mani; the jukebox and milkshake were created with the Maybelline Bleached Neons, and outlined in my black Barry M pen. The turquoise on my pinky is Barry M's Greenberry.
Although the project didn't end up coming to anything I'm glad that I got given a mission as it took me out of my comfort zone a bit and allowed me to create something that I probably wouldn't have otherwise.
Let us know if there are any designs you want us to try, we'd love to give some of your ideas a go!
Hugs
