Rimmel Rita Ora Pop Art Top Coat

This exciting little number popped through my letter box on Saturday and I couldn't wait to show it to you. It's the latest offering from Rimmel and Rita Ora: Pop Art Top Coat*. I was so excited to try it as it reminded me of Models Own's Micro Dots which I quite liked the look of but never really enough to invest.
I combined the top coat with some classic pop art nails. To create these I used two other polishes from the Rita Ora range: Raw As Night* and Midnight Rendezvous*. I then used my Barry M nail pens to add the dots and pop art speech bubbles. I used the Pop Art top coat over OPI's Yoga-Then-Yogurt*.
I was a bit disappointed when I first applied this top coat as it takes some handling to get a good scattering of dots. However, once I had it on my nails I realised that the sparsity of it actually makes it incredibly pretty. There are some little pastel green flecks which look lovely against the white base even though you can't see them very well in the pics. I used two coats of the top coat here but I think with clever placement you could get away with one. I guess it depends on how many dots you want!

Overall I really liked this top coat. It's a really easy way to update a white mani and such a quick fix for a fun look when you're in a rush. I might have to try over some other colours and get your opinions over on our Instagram

We were told that this is released in October but I have seen it over on the Superdrug website if you're keen.

  1. When I first saw this topcoat I immediately though of Models Own MicroDots too! It looks great with the nail art you added! :)

  2. This is really fun and cute!
