Tapestry Carnations

Today we have another different take on floral nail art for you. This design was inspired by the type of flowers you see winding through tapestries, and across art prints. Although the actual flower wasn't based on any species in particular they remind of Carnations due to the colours and the way the leaves encase the flower buds.

I feel like I should have created this design a little earlier in spring, as they look like flowers just starting to bloom. Saying that, summer seems to changed it's mind about turning up this year, so perhaps spring will last a few more months!

I wasn't sure if my drawing skills would be up to the task here, but I'm impressed with the outcome. I started by drawing the design on in white using a small brush, this gave me an outline to follow and made the colours pop a little more. All the polishes used in this design were from Rimmel - Rita Ora - White Light* and Breakfast In Bed*, 60 Seconds - Round And Round The Garden, and Salon Pro - You Had Me At Hello*, Goddess* and Bewitch*.

The base colour is Breakfast In Bed*, the stems are Round And Round The Garden and Bewitch* and the flowers are You Had Me At Hello* and Goddess*.

I know people have mixed opinions on Carnations, are you a fan?
