Football Fever!!

Today marks the start of the 2014 World Cup, so we thought it was only appropriate to create football inspired nail art for the occasion! I've got to admit that Emma and I aren't massive footy fans, but we do enjoy getting into the spirit for the big tournaments.

I took inspiration from the host nation flag, the St George's Cross, a football pattern, and of course gold - that, let's face it, England are unlikely to be seeing much of!

For the football pattern on the thumb I used a base of O.P.I - Put A Coat On!* and drew the pattern on with a black nail art pen. Who knew the football pattern was so hard to draw, it's a mixture of hexagons and pentagons which I could not get to match up properly no matter how hard I tried!

The Brazilian flag was a bit of a pain, two coats of Barry M - Spring Green, a triangle of white, then covered with Maybelline - Electric Yellow. On top of that a semi-circle of Models Own - True Blue, and finally a white stripe and a few dots with a nail pen. Not a difficult design, but a lot of drying time in between layers!

The England flag was nice and simple, base of O.P.I - Put A Coat On!*, and a red cross using O.P.I - Red My Fortune Cookie*.

Finally the gold fingers are a combination of Models Own - Gold Rush and Gold Finger. Super bright and sparkly!

Who are you rooting for in the World Cup this year?

Love,
