Zebra Print Turquoise Fade

Who doesn't love a mixed pattern mani? We've combined zebra print with a simple turquoise fade for this design. This was my first attempt at zebra print, I can't believe I hadn't tried it earlier. With my love for leopard print you would think it was natural to test out other animal prints, but apparently not! I'm really pleased that I finally got round to it as it's such a fun pattern and wasn't as tricky as I thought it might be.

I just drew the stripes on using a nail art pen in a rough, alternating pattern. Letting some of the lines split into two, and not creating a completely uniform design makes zebra print look a little more natural. There are tons of ways people do zebra, but we preferred the slightly messy look!
We used the quick method for fading on this mani (sponging a tip colour onto a dry base colour) so the polishes are not completely mixed into a smooth gradient. As we were adding the animal print on top this isn't as noticable. If I was doing a fade on myself I use the messier version (applying both polishes at the same time using a sponge) to fully blend the colours, but as this was a quick favour for a friend we wanted to avoid all the clean up time.

Sorry about the rubbish photo!!
What's your favourite animal print?
