Champagne Utopia

I get the feeling Models Own made these two polishes to go together, even the names are perfect, what kind of Utopia could exist without Champagne?!

We love Utopia as a base, it's pale pinky shade is perfect, you can see it in our Sugar Baby Love post among others! I bought Champagne at the same time as Utopia because the polishes looked so lovely alongside one another. Champagne is a pale metallic polish, somewhere between pink, gold and silver. It's a lovely formula and is opaque in one coat, although I'd use two if it was the main nail colour.

For this mani I used Utopia as the main colour, and Champagne as an accent. to create the design on the ring finger I cut some small strips of scotch tape. Once the Utopia base was dry I applied the tape, two diagonal strips and one across the centre, like an A shape. I then painted over the tape with a coat of Champagne. When the Champagne had dried a little I carefully peeled off the tape. A quick splash of top coat and voila!

I like geometric patterns in nail art and using tape can help to get really sharp lines and defined corners.
