Breast Cancer Awareness Month Mani

Most, if not all, of our lives have been touched by cancer in some way. Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in the UK and one in eight women will be diagnosed during their lifetimes. October 2013 is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month I have created a pinker than pink mani for you.

I don't often opt for such feminine nails but I recently bought Princess by Barry M, which the boyf described as 'the girliest nail varnish I have ever seen', and I was desperate to try it out. I was inspired by the large number of Breast Cancer Awareness Month manis and varnishes that I have seen on blogs and Instagram this week, even Beyonce is getting in on the fun!

For this mani I used a hatrick of Barry M shades, Matt White, Princess and Strawberry Ice Cream. Princess is one of their newer releases and is super sparkly. For a glitter varnish it has really good coverage with a pink base and tiny gold and silver glitter pieces.

OPI, Essie and Nails Inc are just some of the nail varnish companies who have released pretty pink polishes supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month this year. You can purchase some of them here.

If you have some time on your hands there are tons of fun things you can get involved in to help raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK. Alternatively, there's a no fuss donation page on their website

Finally, stay healthy ladies (and gents!) - make sure you know what symptoms to look out for!
